Fear of RallySport stops the fearful,
but to the fearless, its a welcomed challenge.
HMS RallyMaster
On Feb 21, 1948, a dynamic and innovative motor sport was born called NASCAR.
The first event was held in southern Florida on a two-mile circular track and
featured a $5,000 purse. The 150 mile race at the three-quarter-mile Charlotte
Speedway was won by Jim Roper of Great Bend, Kansas.
A tremendous crowd attended the event to see automobiles with the appearance
of a street car race door-to-door. The new racing series was off and running. And
it was an immediate success.
In 1949, NASCAR president Bill France Sr. re-visited the idea of racing the cars
that people actually drove on the street -- late model family sedans. Since no other
racing organization had seized the idea, France figured it might take root and
create added interest. Today NASCAR is the undisputed leader in stock racing in
America.
The term "rally", as a branch of motor sport, dates from the first Monte Carlo Rally
of January 1911. Until the late 1920s, few if any other events used the term.
RallySport is not "racing" but is considered "competitive precision driving".
RallySport is distinguished by running not on a circuit track, but instead in a point-
to-point format in which participants and their co-drivers drive between set control
points (stages), leaving at regular intervals from one or more start points. A
RallySport track is 200 to 350 miles with 5 to 9 checkpoints.
RallySport can only be won using the Time, Speed, Distance (TSD) principle
between stages or alternatively by driving to a predetermined ideal journey time
within the stages. The best overall time and the highest score accumulated
between checkpoints, WINS!
Hyper•Formance MotorSports uses NASCAR as the direct example of how to
professionally organize, manage, expand and market motor sport entertainment.
Our clients sponsorship value is pre-determined during route qualification.
Precision Driving using TSD road rally rules is the most challenging type of driving
in motorsports because the Driver, Navigator and Car all work in unison
while doing different jobs.
