The Challenge in RallySport is the Drivers/Navigators ability to score well in a competitive precision driving environment.
The basic rules and principles of Time, Speed, Distance (TSD) road rallies takes the urge to race out of the equation to win. Now intelligence shared between two people, driving and navigation skills and the cars ability to perform is put into the equation to WIN.
If participants have a license and insured to drive anywhere in the United States they are qualified to compete in RallySport. HMS RallySport rules are the following during event operations;
All cars must have a qualified Driver and Navigator. RallySport stages (the distance between checkpoints) are measured using TSD principles. Official Time Performance Windows (OTPW) are from 3 to 7 minutes.
1. Driver / Navigator must arrive at a checkpoint within the OTPW for the best score.
2. If a rallyteam arrives too fast at a checkpoint (outside OTPW), only ½ of the stage value is awarded.
3. If a rallyteam arrives too slow at a checkpoint (outside OTPW), only ½ of the stage value is awarded.
4. If a rally car is stopped by any police agency and ticketed for speeding during a HMS RallySport event, the rally car is immediately disqualified and ejected from the event.
5. All HMS members agree to the HMS Driver/Navigator conduct rules.
The rally car (Driver/Navigator) with the best per-stage time and the highest score, WINS. The RallySport Team (40-100 ppl) with the most points WINS. Points, Cash, Sponsorship Benefits and Awards along with the most fun you've ever had will start with the 2010 Rally Fuzion season on February 20th.
